I began teaching at Crosley in April 2018 after my school, Boley Elementary burned to the ground.  Crosley so graciously took me and my students in and has housed us since that day.  I am officially Boley Elementary Pre-K, housed at Crosley Pre-K and Kindergarten Center.  Crosley faculty and staff have taken us under their Eagle wings and showed us such precious hospitality!    

I have taught at Boley Elementary since 1992, that’s 29 years after this school year.    Same school, same grade.  I love teaching Pre-K!

For 15 years, under Principal Curtis Pate at that time, I directed the annual Christmas Musical for the whole school.  That was an exciting time!

Last March 7^th 2020 was my official retirement date, but I had one last grandchild to teach, so I hung in there one more year!  I have taught all of my grandchildren who live here in West Monroe.

I was the third Pre-K teacher to be hired in Ouachita Parish.   I was also the first Title I Pre-K Teacher, who helped lay the foundation for the Pre-K Program that is in place to this day.  I am very proud to have had a part in the awesome ground work that it took to laydown this Pre-K program.   I believe Ouachita Parish has a top of the class, professional Pre-K program.  The Pre-K teachers in our program are very dedicated to being the best!

Before becoming a La. State CertifiedTeacher, I worked in New Orleans at Cresent City High School as their Pre-K teacher.  

Before Cresent City High School, I worked 7 years at  Noah’s Ark Daycare, 1^st Assembly of God, Kenner, La.  as their PreK teacher and other teaching postitions and Kitchen. It was this postision that I fell in love with teaching, especially the 4 year olds.  

I am married to Gus Meza.  We were married on Janurary 1^st, 2020.

Together we have a blended family of 7 children and 12 grandchildren.

We have two dogs and 3 chickens     

I love to grow a vegetable garden.

I love  swimming,  traveling,  spending time with family and friends and  church family. 

 I love to go “junkin’”,  garage selling,  flea marketing.
